Children have free play during the morning to allow them to settle into the day upon arrival to the centre.
The children are able to initiate play experiences based on their own interests or engage in some activities set up by the educators.
Morning Tea is provided for all children at the centre around 9am each day.
Morning Tea varies each day but will always include fresh fruit platters and then a variant such as yoghurt, pancakes, cereal and banana bread.
During this time the room leaders bring the preschoolers together into their rooms to begin the daily learning activities and planned experiences. This group time begins with a discussion about the planned program for that day and is often followed by a story that relates to the activities and weekly topics.
During this time the preschoolers are given the opportunity to carry out the planned activities as discussed in the group time if they wish to do so. These activities are based around a range of experiences including science, technology, engineering, literacy, numeracy and art and craft.
The mid-day group time is where each room leader brings their group together to reflect on the mornings learning activities and transition into lunch. Sometimes during morning group time the 2 groups are brought together to share a story or music and movement.
The pre-schoolers come together in a group for lunch time. Their lunch boxes will be set up to eat either inside or outside dependant on the weather.
Rest time is before lunch, The children are able to choose between quite activities or resting on bed.
During this time the preschoolers are given the opportunity to carry out the planned activities as discussed in the group time if they wish to do so. These activities are based around a range of experiences and focus on both cognitive learning and skill development including science, technology, engineering, literacy, numeracy and art and craft.
On their designated news day your child may bring in 1 news item that they would like to share infant of their teachers and peers. The news items must fit inside your child's locker to be stored safely. They are then able to show the item in front of the group and engage in a discussion about what it means to them and why they have chosen to bring it in.
Afternoon Tea is provided for all children at the centre around 3pm each day. Please refer to the centre menu for more information as afternoon tea varies each day.
Children have free play during the afternoon to allow them to continue to build upon their interests and connections with each other as well as giving them the chance to wind down after a day of learning.
During the late afternoon children are able to have free play until they are collected. They are offered 'late snack' if they are hungry where they are able to finish anything left in their lunch boxes or a piece of fruit from the centre.
